triples competition
It was absolutely roasting at Thornaby for our Triples competition on Friday 26th June. Going through to our finals are David Bligh, Billy Watt & Gary Brown from Elm Tree Bowling Club & Fred Kirby, John McArthur and Neil Lockwood from Smith's Dock Bowling Club.
Excellent hosting from Thornaby bowling Club again, big thank you to all who helped out to make it a great day.
pairs competition
Elm Tree Bowling Club hosted our Pairs Competition on Tuesday 23rd June. Going through to the final are Neil Lockwood & Fred Kirby (Smith's Dock) and Hazel Fisher & Malcolm Gardiner (Ropner Park).
Big thank you to Alan, Sue & their team at Elm Tree for their hospitality.
fours competition
Our Fours Competition was held at Smith's Dock Bowling Club on Friday 19th June. The two teams that qualified for the final were from Stockton Bowling Club (Stella & Sid Adkin, Jeff Irish & Robbie Carson) and Smith's Dock Bowling Club (Mick & Denise Mooney, ? & ?)
Our thanks to Smith's Dock for the use of their greens and their excellent hospitality.
Singles competition
This was held at Stockton Bowling Club on Tuesday 16th June. After a full days bowling we ended up with our two finalists, both from Elm Tree Bowling Club - Graeme Parkinson & Brian Hart.
A big thank you to Stockton Bowling Club and their members for their hospitality - and special thanks to Tommy & Gary - who stepped in and saved the day after two people not only didn't bother to turn up, but seem to think it's acceptable to not bother informing us that they wouldn't be taking part - it's NOT acceptable.
competition news
Once again we have had quite a large number of entries into our competitions. Although this is impressive and demonstrates how healthy our league is, it can also cause some slight problems. If at all possible, could those who have entered, please arrange to meet at your own club and travel together in as few cars as possible to help ease any potential parking problems at the venues.
Food and refreshments will be available at all of the venues that are hosting the competitions.
Our Annual General Meeting & Award Presentations took place on Wednesday 18th February, commencing at 1:30pm.

There was only one amendment to the league rules. The following was added to Rule 4 -
"No practice ends are allowed - but one shot only will be awarded to the winners of each of the first two ends"
